A bit about me: I started tutoring back in year 10, just helping out students in the years below me at school. Years later, I'm still going, which probably tells you something about how much I enjoy it. In between, I managed a tutoring centre with over 300 students and 40 tutors a week, so I've seen pretty much every learning style and student type there is. That experience is a big part of why I now tutor university students exclusively. It's where I found my real passion, which is teaching people how to learn, not just what to learn. I think a lot about how to get the absolute most out of study time, how to stay calm and perform well under exam pressure, and how to build study habits that actually stick. Some of my most rewarding experiences have been with students who came to me genuinely worried about passing, and ended up finishing the semester with high distinctions. I think that's achievable for pretty much anyone. I finished my own degree but have no intention of stopping tutoring. Helping students become better, more confident learners is something I find genuinely fulfilling, and the skills you build along the way will carry you well beyond university.

I was really struggling on my Finance units at the start of sem and wasn't really sure where to start. Marcus was good at figuring out where the gaps were and building from there rather than just running through slides. What I didn't expect was how much he actually changes the way you think about studying, not just the content itself. Also, I messaged him at 11pm the night before an exam and he got back to me, which honestly saved me. ended up doing a lot better than i thought i would. Cannot recommend Marcus enough for anyone looking to boost their grades.

As someone who had missed many classes, falling way back on class content and had no idea how to attempt any of the calculations, Marcus helped me understand the course content and really helped me get the hang of doing all variations of a particular calculation. As we got closer to the exam he really helped me prepare for the exam giving me the most exam appropriate questions as practice and was really flexible with time. Overall he really helped me prepare for FINC 2011, as from being clueless about the course work, I jumped up to knowing how to work around almost any question I was given and really understanding key concepts. So I highly recommend him as a tutor for FINC2011

I highly recommend Marcus as a tutor! He has been incredibly supportive, flexible, and consistently available, often at all hours, providing help over text and Zoom whenever I need it. He has helped me understand the content much more easily and build a solid grasp of the subject, which I found difficult before having him tutor me in ECOS2001. Definitely recommend!

can't praise Marcus enough! His incredible knowledge, patience, adaptive teaching nature and ability to explain complex topics with clarity have truly transformed my learning experience.
