UNSW Business Tutor Gerry

Gerry is a wonderful tutor who helped me tremendously in Investments and Portfolio management (FINC3017) at Usyd. His knowledge and teaching ability is second to none and I wouldn’t have been able to get through the subject without him. I cannot recommend highly enough.

I was struggling with USYD FINC3017 and engaged with Gerry for help understanding course content and preparing for the final exam. Not only did he teach me practical understanding of the math, he went further and was able to truly teach me the mechanics of the formulae. He was amazing and helped take me from a class I thought I was sure to fail, to getting a distinction! I couldn’t recommend his service more!

Gerry is a fantastic teacher. Patient, understanding, passionate and knowledgeable. He is not only an effective teacher but also a superb human being. I had over 18 sessions with him on FINC3017 at USYD and without his guidance I would not have succeeded in my objectives. Gerry constantly went above and beyond in facilitating my needs, whether it be flexible scheduling, targeting specific aspects of coursework or exam preparation. I was seriously struggling with FINC3017 at USYD, as I had the bare minimum grasp on core financial modelling and concepts, as well as any excel abilities (ie, I scraped through other Finance units, particularly Corp II). I was extremely nervous about being able to get through this subject, so I approached my USYD Unit Coordinator to seek advice. He himself straight away recommended Gerry - saying that many of his previous students were tutored by Gerry and couldn’t recommend him more. I was a little nervous about the Zoom approach as I’d never done it before however, each and every session was executed SO efficiently and we powered through some crazy concepts using multiple tools on Zoom. Gerry had incredible patience with me as I was slow to grasp the heavy content, and he went ABOVE AND BEYOND consistently, in writing up numerous practice questions with extremely in-depth solutions, lecture summary notes with examples, exam practice questions and plenty more. On top of his knowledge and ability to communicate this, he is also a pretty incredible person. 10/10 recommend reaching out to Gerry for his services, as I am certain I would not have been able to get through this unit without him!
