My name is Yoyo, and I’m a second-year medical student at the University of Queensland. I received full marks in my UQ MMI in 2023 and have also sat MMIs for other universities in Hong Kong and the UK. I’ve been tutoring students for MMIs over the past few years, with many receiving offers from Australian universities. My approach to teaching MMIs begins with building a solid foundation in key areas such as public health, rural and remote health, Indigenous health, ethics and so on; topics that will support your critical thinking. More importantly, I’ll help you demonstrate to the interviewers who you are, why you want to study Medicine, why you've chosen their university, and how you possess the qualities they’re looking for: effective communication skills, kindness and compassion, leadership, teamwork, professionalism, a passion for learning and much more. To communicate your critical thinking as well as your personal qualities and values clearly, I’ll teach you how to structure your responses effectively. I cannot stress enough the importance of a well-structured answer, and this goes far beyond basic signposting. You’ll learn advanced techniques to create responses that are authentic and will help you stand out. Moreover, we’ll go through lots of practice questions and mock exams to help build your confidence and ability to respond under time pressure. I offer both one-on-one and group lessons via Zoom.
