Hi, my name is Marshall and I'm currently studying a Masters of Secondary Teaching at the University of Canberra, following completion of a Bachelor of Science majoring in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Wollongong in 2023, where I graduated with a Distinction Average.
I have experience tutoring undergraduate university students in fundamental descriptive and inferential statistical methods, chemistry fundamentals, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, electrochemistry, and analytical/water chemistry; as well as guidance for skills and best practice regarding research and drafting scientific reports.
I completed Year 12 in 2016 at St. Stanislaus' College, Bathurst (ATAR = 85):
- Chemistry = 85 (Ranked 1st)
- Mathematics Methods = 87 (Ranked 1st)
- Physics = 85 (Ranked 2nd)
I've always been interested in effective learning and what's involved in the process. My Masters of Secondary Teaching has attuned me to different learning styles, pedagogical methods, and tools/resources to ensure effective understanding of any topic. Over the course of my high school and university studies I've trialled and tested various productivity and tech tools to accelerate my learning and productivity, and have this expertise to impart on students.
From personal experience in high school and university, as well as through my teaching placements, I understand how critical being personable and engaging is when it comes to communicating knowledge and content; thus, I aim to facilitate understanding through analogy, imagery, and other non-traditional forms.
My timetable is flexible and I'm happy to provide the first 2 x 30 minutes tutoring sessions for free so you get a chance to see if I'm the right fit for you. For online tutoring I prefer Microsoft Teams but comfortable using any other communication tool you prefer.
