Hi, I'm Tulga! I have recently graduated from the ANU with a Bachelor of International Relations and Bachelor of Arts Honours (Specialization in Philosophy). For the latter, I received a first-class honours.
Are you having a lot of trouble with consistently writing high quality papers for your university courses or college (year 11-12) classes? If so, I can help you reverse this. I can help you learn how to write papers that contain: a) concise writing b) well-defended, plausible arguments, and c) thoughtful and critical responses to the provided questions or prompts.
I am happy to carefully step you through any of the stages of writing up your assessment whether that be planning, drafting and revising/rewriting. I can also provide support for more general matters such as note-taking/reading strategies, exam preparation, or even ensuring you are engaging with the materials you are supposed to learn each week.
My services primarily consist of providing extensive written feedback on whatever you send me, as well as meeting up in-person on university campus or some other public place (or online via zoom/google meet/skype) to discuss your work with you.
For the written feedback option, I charge a rate of 60 dollars per 500 words of the work that you send me. The first five hundred words are completely free of charge. Depending on much work it requires, subsequent feedback for the same revised draft may have a cheaper rate.
The written feedback option involves the following:
- I will evaluate the strength of your arguments. This requires two things. First, I will look at whether the reasons you give in support of each of your premises actually link up to those premises in the right way, so as to make them plausibly true. Second, I will look at whether your premises jointly lend strong probabilistic or evidential support for the conclusion you are arguing for (or guarantee the conclusion in the case of deductive arguments). If your arguments are not up to scratch, I will show you how they can be improved.
- I will identify particular passages of your work that are not concise, or under-explained, or contain irrelevant information, or lack sufficient signposting. I will then provide details on how to improve those particular passages.
- If applicable, I will lay out potentially strong and obvious objections against the claims you make in your paper (or more subtle objections if desired). Typically, very high-scoring papers do not suffer from the former.
- I will provide advice on how to structure your paper properly. Most commonly, this includes advice on macro-structure (i.e., how the introduction, main body section and conclusion are arranged) as well as how to make sure that each paragraph in your paper flows in an obvious and logical way from the previous paragraph.
- I will proofread for grammatical, spelling and punctuation errors, as well as mistakes in the footnotes or citations.
For in-person or online consultations I charge a rate of 80$ per hour. The first hour is free of charge.
Subjects:
Any, as long as they require you to make arguments (whether in writing or orally). But I can't help you much with formal methods like probability theory or mathematics more generally, computational algorithms etc.
