UniMelb Arts Tutor Amelia

Hi all, I am an Honours Arts graduate from the University of Melbourne and a tutor at Queen's and St Hilda College where I teach various subjects across the Arts and Humanities disciplines. I have extensive experience tutoring and mentoring students as an Academic Support Worker at Victoria University, a Student Mentor with secondary school providers under the auspice of La Trobe University, and an Academic Mentor for the Peer Mentoring Program at the University of Melbourne. My approach to teaching is empowering students to recognise the potential of their own skills through interactive and interrogative activities. I emphasise the importance of adopting a systemic approach to writing and reading, helping students build confidence in identifying patterns and trends in their strengths and weaknesses in a manner that will transform their studying approach. In short, I focus on developing critical skills to last a lifetime. I have interest in tutoring Politics, Sociology, Gender Studies, and Philosophy.
