Hi! I'm Suki. I sat the GAMSAT once in September 2024, achieving 71/85/97 and an 87 overall. I will be starting the MD at Sydney Uni next year.
I prepared intensely for my GAMSAT sitting, and feel that I have accumulated a range of helpful resources and tips for each section of the exam.
Whilst a solid understanding of Biology and Chemistry is invaluable for Section 3, the importance of skills such as synthesising new information, critical reasoning, and mathematical manipulation is often overlooked. Having achieved a 97 in this section, I am confident that my approach and resources can effectively prepare you to answer GAMSAT-style questions that draw on mathematical skills, graph interpretation, data analysis and pattern recognition. I'm also happy to help create a study plan that works for you.
Drawing on my own experience, I found Section 2 the most overwhelming. I just didn't know where to start, and online videos compounded the panic by presenting Pulitzer prize-winning examples and no systematic means of getting there. Whether you're worried about time, structure, expression or content, my approach to Section 2 addresses all four. Forget trying to memorise obtuse quotes from philosophers, I will help you build a bank of insightful, interesting examples that directly respond to prompts in a memorable and meaningful way.
Section 2 is your opportunity to reveal your capacity to view complex issues from multiple perspectives and demonstrate how your identity has been shaped by lived experience. Using my ideas bank as your foundation, we can use each lesson to examine a theme, analyse it from a global and personal perspective and clarify specific examples that can be adapted to related prompts. I'll also bring along essays/reflections that we can deconstruct to see how complex discussions can be translated into cohesive arguments.
Between lessons you can use these materials to develop a set of Section A and B responses. For an additional $20 per response, you can email me your work and I will provide specific written feedback before our next lesson.
I'm happy to tutor over Google Meets or in-person.
