GAMSAT S2 Tutor - highest score 91 - Informative Classes and Essay Feedback Current 1st year DMD student at the University of Sydney About me: Graduated from BBMED Honours (H1 honours) 1st round MD offers received from USYD and UQ Section 2 score of 91 In complete utter honesty, Section 2 was easily the most frustrating part of the GAMSAT for me. My strongest sections were S1 and S3, but S2 was all over the place. In my second sitting alone, my score dropped from 65 to 58, even though my prep felt pretty similar. I was practising essays, getting “okay” feedback, and still had no real idea how to improve in a meaningful way. What eventually helped was properly understanding what S2 is actually asking for, and how essays are marked. Once I stopped treating it like a creative writing task and started approaching it in a more structured way, things finally clicked. My S2 scores went from being completely unpredictable to: 84 in my third sitting 91 in March 2025, which helped me get into medicine at USYD and UQ Essays are subjective, and ultimately no system guarantees a perfect score, but I think my lengthy experience with this damn exam has allowed me to develop an approach that is pretty comprehensive, paints a clear picture of the essay as a whole, gives you ideas to implement in any prompt, and helps you write essays that consistently hit the things examiners care about.
