If you’ve made it this far – congratulations. Getting to the interview stage is a huge achievement, and you should be proud of yourself! My name is Rowan, and I’m a medical student at the University of Melbourne. I’m here to help you get across the final hurdle of the application process – the MMI interview. The interview process can feel daunting. Theres a lot to cover, it’s hard to know where to start, and most people are balancing preparation with work or study commitments. In recent years, many universities have moved to a 50/50 weighting, where the interview is weighted equally with your GAMSAT and GPA combined. This means that your interview performance can make or break your application – and strong preparation is essential. I was fortunate to have excellent mentors and peers who helped me develop the skills needed to perform well in interviews. Since then, I’ve refined these strategies and skills to mentor my own students, and help them get into their dream medical school.
