UniMelb Health Tutor Rowan
If you’ve made it this far – congratulations. Getting to the interview stage is a huge achievement, and you should be proud of yourself!
My name is Rowan, and I’m a medical student at the University of Melbourne. I’m here to help you get across the final hurdle of the application process – the MMI interview.
The interview process can feel daunting. Theres a lot to cover, it’s hard to know where to start, and most people are balancing preparation with work or study commitments.
In recent years, many universities have moved to a 50/50 weighting, where the interview is weighted equally with your GAMSAT and GPA combined. This means that your interview performance can make or break your application – and strong preparation is essential.
I was fortunate to have excellent mentors and peers who helped me develop the skills needed to perform well in interviews. Since then, I’ve refined these strategies and skills to mentor my own students, and help them get into their dream medical school.
I have experience with Medicine and Dentistry interviews across:
- University of Melbourne
- University of Western Australia
- University of Notre Dame
During my application year, I:
- Scored top quartile in CASPER
- Received offers from the University of Melbourne, University of Sydney, and University of Western Australia
I’ve recently had some availability open up over the coming months and am able to take on a few extra students.
What You Can Expect:
As my student, you can expect a structured, step-by-step approach to MMI preparation, including:
- High-yield breakdowns of common MMI stations
- Guidance in identifying your most impactful personal experiences and transforming them into confident, well-structured responses
- Proven frameworks and tools to help you stand out from other candidates
- Custom-designed practice questions tailored to your strengths and areas for improvement
- Simulated MMI stations during sessions with targeted, actionable feedback
- Full mock MMIs to build confidence and timing
I see myself as a mentor, not just a tutor. I understand how demanding MMI preparation can be, and I’m available outside of session hours to answer questions, provide guidance, and support you throughout the process.
Our goal is that by the time interviews arrive, you feel calm, confident, and prepared!
I take pride in my students and am looking for students who are willing to put in the work!
If this sounds like a good fit, feel free to reach out. I offer a free initial consultation, where we will:
- Get to know you
- Discuss your goals and expectations
- Identify your strengths and areas for improvement
- Determine the teaching style that suits you best
- Tailor a preparation plan to maximize your performance
