USYD Science Tutor Nohad

I studied a Bachelor of Medical Science at the University of Sydney and completed a research-intensive Honours year at the Children’s Medical Research Institute with the Cell Biology laboratory. I began a PhD in cancer research; however, I decided to pursue medicine instead. I recently completed a Graduate Diploma in Public Health, receiving an overall 7 GPA. I have sat the Graduate Australian Medical School Admission Test (GAMSAT) multiple times, receiving a score within the 92nd percentile. I also sat the University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT), receiving a score above the 8th decile. Regarding tutoring experience, I was a literary specialist at Cumberland Education from 2018 to 2020. While working at Cumberland Education, I supported students with diverse learning difficulties, such as ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, and dyscalculia. Later on, I began private tutoring, helping university students with their nursing, biology, and chemistry units. I have also privately tutored primary school students, focusing on selective school exams, NAPLAN, and maths. Most recently, I assisted colleagues in their GAMSAT studies by explaining difficult scientific concepts, marking their essays, and running twice-weekly reflective sessions where we would run through correct answers to completed questions and develop an understanding as to why their answers were correct or not.
