USYD Health Tutor Jamieson
Hey everyone, I'm Jamieson! I am a final year dental student at USYD (CSP). I have previously scored 76 and 83 in S2.
I strongly believe that Section II is the most approachable and 'easiest' section to have strong jumps in performance in the GAMSAT. Many students prepare by writing countless essays on a multitude of topics, hoping that on the day a familiar topic is given that matches a practice essay. This method is not consistent, and also leads to plenty of anxiety and inconsistency!
I used to feel confused and uncertain about consistency in S2 of the GAMSAT. With the correct approach, I improved my S2 score from low 60s to a final score of 83. Having gone through many approaches for preparation, I understand that uncertainty that is tied to S2 when ACER can bring up a wide array of topics.
I like to base my teaching off a students strengths. By tailoring my approach to ideas and thought processes that each individual student has, we can work together to create a system that can be applied to almost any S2 GAMSAT topic. My approach resulted in me using less time for preparation, and gave me more confidence approaching S2 on the day. For example, I thought I had given an all out effort when I scored 76, having studied for 4 straight months before the GAMSAT. After adapting my technique and rethinking what ACER really wants in S2, I scored an 83 with less than 4 weeks of preparation, with significantly less stress as that exam day approached.
Tutorials over Zoom. My rate is $60/h for individual students, however happy to do group lessons and discussions for $40/h per student if you have some friends that want to learn together.
Looking forward to hearing from you, and will hopefully be able to help you boost your Section II score!
