Hi, I'm Joel! I hold two master's degrees; one in Mathematical Physics and Quantum Information from the University of Melbourne, and a second in Quantum Technologies from the University of Oxford, where I'm currently completing my dissertation on machine-learning-assisted tuning of silicon spin qubit devices. During and after my time in Melbourne, I tutored Quantum Mechanics and Vector Calculus at Ormond College and the university, where both of my students went on to win a summer research scholarship. I also have experience teaching Electromagnetic Theory and Spanish. My teaching style, I believe in understanding problems deeply, not just getting to the answer. I work through problems from your course textbooks alongside you, in the style of university tutorials, so you can see why a method works and apply it to any variation. The goal is that you leave each session able to tackle new questions efficiently and cleverly, and perform well in exams. I'm always open to adapting my approach to whatever works best for you.
