USYD IT Tutor Olivia

Hi, I'm Olivia. I'm in my final year of computer science at USYD. Before this I completed a Philosophy degree at the University of Reading in the UK where I was tutored by Galen Strawson. I mostly focused on ethics, philosophy of law and justice, but covered all the usual stuff too, metaphysics, philosophy of mind, Hume, formal logic. On the computing side I can help with intro and second year programming and software units. I got an HD in INFO1110 (88) and ISYS2120 (90), and DIs in INFO1113, COMP2017, SOFT2201, SOFT3202 and SOFT2412. Comfortable with Python, Java, C, SQL and OOP. I sat these units recently so I know how they're actually assessed, not just the content. On the philosophy side I can help with first and second year phil units, especially anything ethics related (Moore, natural vs non-natural good, moral frameworks generally), political philosophy, philosophy of mind, Hume, logic. Also happy to help humanities students with essay writing in general, structure, argument, that kind of thing. I explain things from first principles and I'm patient with it. Can do assignments, exam prep, or just working through stuff you're stuck on. Online, or in person around USYD or Parramatta.
