UNSW Engineering Tutor Finn
Topping your class or passing MATH, PHYSICS, and engineering exams requires three key steps:
1. Finish the course content early in the trimester with a thorough understanding of what is and isn’t relevant for Final exams.
2. Gaining early access to exam banks so you can learn every question they could give you.
3. Having someone who has done the course teach you how to write solutions that maximise marks, even if you get the wrong answer.
My course is designed to accelerate student learning, so they top their classes, but regardless of how well you are currently doing, it will help improve tremendously. If you want to pass, think of this tutoring as reaching for the stars (Topping) and hitting the moon (Passing).
Unfortunately, lecturers at UNSW often distract students with theory, notation, and practice problems that are different from the exam. To make it worse, exam banks are released in week 9, two weeks before finals. These banks are quite large and make up 60% of the exam, so it is crucial to finish at least twice. However, this is extremely difficult in the time they give.
How I fix that:
Becoming a Top student comes from a consistent, planned routine. As someone who has done the course recently, I can offer the guidance you need to
1. 2-4 hours of live lectures with worked examples from the Final exam question bank and an overall focus on exam strategies that maximise marks even if you get the wrong solution. Each lesson follows an accelerated curriculum.
2. Early access to exam banks.
3. Homework.
