Elena is an exceedingly intelligent individual with an unparalleled intuition for biology. Having become dependent on ineffective rote learning strategies throughout high school, I found that my tireless studying was producing minimal payoff in a university setting. Elena recognised this and rectified my approach to biology by helping me to build a thorough understanding of content that was perfectly suited to university exams. Elena is a fantastic tutor, and I can't recommend her enough for anyone needing a bit of extra help with genetics! She was very quick to get back to me and did her absolute best to fit me into her busy schedule, and I am so grateful! Her teaching approach is really great, by forcing me to really think about how and why things are happening, rather than just giving the answers. I would highly recommend Elena!

Elena is an incredible tutor! I had never looked into tutoring for university before GENE20001 and came across Elena’s page when I was struggling during the semester. Even over zoom Elena was extremely helpful and I got a lot of the sessions, even more so than most of high school tutoring which was in person so I can only imagine how good sessions with Elena would be in that environment. She has a friendly, warm and relaxed approach which made me feel comfortable in asking questions and in the sessions in general. If any is looking for a genetics tutor I couldn’t recommend anyone more!

Elena helped me so much when I was in a really tricky situation with a biology subject that had me wanting to give up on science all together. Elena is an amazing tutor. She is incredibly kind and patient, and is very knowledgeable in the field of genetics, something that I was greatly struggling with in BIO10005. She explains concepts in unique ways that just make them click, and is a wonderful person to have a chat with! Elena greatly appreciates and takes into consideration your background knowledge, while also providing you with the opportunity to challenge yourself to think critically about problems. Elena was so great for me in Human Genetics!! She is incredibly knowledgeable and always has time to discuss any concerns and challenging topics. I strongly recommend Helena for anyone who wants to do the best they can in genetics, she strengthened my understanding heaps and helped me get get an overall score of 91 in a unit I found very challenging :) I met with Helena in the last month leading up to exams and even though it was a short time, she taught me so many tips and tricks!! Coming from a background of not having really done any sort of genetics and not understanding what little I did know about genetics, Elena really helped me understand the very basic concepts by using practical real life examples from her experience as a medical scientist as well as explaining things I couldn't understand in multiple, different ways to ensure that I had a solid foundation of knowledge to be able to understand concepts in the genetics subjects I planned to study during the coming year. Being her student, I also felt she genuinely cared about my education in that she always kept track of where I was at in preparation for tests and exams and also made herself available for me to ask questions outside of the time she spent tutoring me. I am really glad and appreciate the effort she put into helping me this semester and definitely recommend her to students looking for help in genetics.

Elena is an excellent tutor and so knowledgable! She helped me understand GEN2041 so well. She was very responsive and took her time to clearly explain the concepts that I didn’t fully understand and made sure that I understand the concepts before proceeding. Elena was such a great tutor. She knows her stuff and is committed to helping on any and all questions. Shes really approachable and reliable so you feel as if you can ask her any question (even outside of the sessions). Elena knows how the subject is run and helped me understand what to focus on and how best to approach each topic, with both content and questions. I would definitely reccomend Elena as a tutor for GENE20001 or any other subject which she tutors for- had such a positive experience :)

Elena is an extremely helpful and knowledgable tutor, she's also very nice and friendly.I came to Elena after failing my first mst.I started with hating genetics so much, since I don't think I'll pass the subject.After ~8 weeks with the help of Elena, I actually found genetics quite interesting.I also managed to passed my subject.Without her help, I don't think I would pass the subject.She has a deep understanding of GENE20001,letting me know what is important in the chapter and helped me with going through the past-exam papers.She also provided me a lot of tips in solving genetics problems.As a international student, I have difficulties in understanding a lot of the questions, Elena is very patience in explaining the questions to me.I would highly recommend Elena to anyone who's looking for a tutor in genetics.

Elena is one of the best tutors I've ever met! She is responsible and reliable, and she really cares about your study.
