Hi, My name is Dawson and I’m here to help you with the rigour of psychology undergrad/grad dip and honours. Whether you’re aiming at getting into Masters, doing a PhD, or simply wanting to get through first year I can support you on your learning journey. I have years of experience as a tutor, both in group settings (including university tutorial classes) and one-on-one sessions, and have taken these courses myself in the recent past. I have recently completed my Masters in Clinical Psychology at Deakin University and currently work as a psychologist in private practice. Previously I have worked as a university tutor and research assistant. I finished Honours in Psychology at Melbourne Uni in 2016 and have tutored and marked assignments in the Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences, Melbourne Graduate School of Education, and at Deakin Uni. I have a good sense of what markers are looking for and can help you meet and exceed their expectations to gain top marks. I can help with lab report and essay writing, understanding challenging course material, overcoming stats anxiety, and preparing for exams and Masters applications/interviews. During tutorials, I like to ask questions and engage in discussions to encourage reflection and critical thinking. I recognise that everyone brings their own skills and knowledge to the table and I like to work collaboratively to build on the strengths and talents you already possess. For individual tutorials I charge $50/hour and conduct these via Zoom or telephone. For advice on academic writing, you can email me a draft of your work for proofreading at a rate of $40/1000 words. My proofreading service includes comprehensive editing (spelling and grammar) and feedback (comments and suggestions) on how you can better demonstrate your knowledge and fulfil marking criteria. I can also help you improve the clarity and flow of your writing. My usual turnaround for proofreading is 72 hours, but you can request an 'express' turnaround (< 24 hours) for $60/1000 words. Dawson is an exceptional tutor. He blends his personal manner and academic ability in such a way that is very approachable (I never feel stupid asking questions) and knowledgeable (he is very informed about all things psych). I attribute results I'm happy with to his consistent help throughout the semester. I wouldn't approach any subject now without him. He is an excellent dimension to integrate in your approach to study.

As an international student, English is not my strength, psychology essay writing in particular. There are some terminology or rhetoric that I just don’t get it. Dawson helps you compensate this issue. I know my marks are higher after proofreading and this satisfy my needs.

He's got an ability to ready your work closely, understand what you are trying to get at, and help you put that in the best way possible.
