Description
The Museum of Antiquities at the University of New England is the only regional ancient history and archaeology museum in Australia. Opened in 1959 as part of the Department of Classics, the museum now contains many antiquities from: - the ancient Mediterranean and - the Near East which are complemented by objects and ethnographic material from: - Australia - South East Asia - New Guinea - the Pacific Rgion - Mesoamerica and - Africa Entry is free for all visitors and donations can be made by contacting the University Curator, Ian Stephenson, on (02) 6773 6566 or via email istephen@une.edu.au
