I did this subject under the old structure (when it was a 25-point subject) but to be fair I felt I had learnt very little at the end of the course. There were no proper lectures, very vague guidance on assessment tasks, and feedback on assessment tasks was almost non-existent. I understand Honours is all about self-directed learning, but a subject still needs to have content and structure. To be fair, after doing 2nd and 3rd year biochem subjects (which were mostly excellently taught and coordinated), I had an impression that the Biochemistry coursework subject was just as good. But to be fair, I felt like this was a waste of time and money; absolutely not worth it at all.

Have honestly nothing good to say about this. All I can say is, if you want to do honours in biochem, power through it. Doing Hons is still worth it and have no regrets, but this subject will be the worst part of it. At least its quick...
