Reviews

The subject and the lecturer are jokes. The assignment is completely irrelevant to this subject and a waste of time. The lecturer struggles to explain concepts clearly. I would rather read the slides by myself than watch the recording. Lots of students are complaining about the low grades given on final exams. Lecturers always try to find excuses to prevent students from doing exam reviews. The quality of this class is abysmally awful, and I don't think this lecturer is qualified to teach such a subject

Do not take this subject. It is not updated since 30 years. The lecture quality is awful—the audio in the recorded sessions is unintelligible. And even when it is somewhat audible, the lecturer struggles to explain concepts clearly, mostly just reading loads of theory straight from a textbook. The assignment is a joke, likely the result of lazy planning. While advanced database courses at other universities involve practical projects on database management, here we’re stuck writing essays on random, obscure research topics. It's hard to believe Melbourne University is ranked 13th. What a scam.

Decide to withdraw after the first week of the semester. No workshop and mainly about theoretic concepts. Three courses a week.

Do not take this subject. It is not updated since 20 years. Old concepts. Bad explanation and difficult test at the end. If I could I would rate 0
