Content is really interesting to anyone interested in education, psychology, public health or implementation science. Weekly workload is 1 lecture each week (live and recorded, can watch in ~40 minutes) and 1-2 readings - this content is assessed through 2 quizzes for content up to week 10 (there is a bit of a lag between the lectures and the quizzes, so fear not if you fall a bit behind!). The lecture is followed by an in-person seminar each week - there is an attendance hurdle but the seminars themselves are quite chill, and you can contribute even if you haven't caught up to the lecture. Seminars are a great chance to practice skills you'll need for assignments and ask questions about them too. Agree with the review from 2023. The assignments are flexible and build on each other, but they do give you a detailed rubric so don't worry about not knowing what to do. 2 written assignments in total (1400 words and 1500 words), and a short 5 minute presentation. Overall, I found it an interesting breadth with enough flexibility so that I can focus on my other subjects during some weeks, then hustle for the assignments. The coordinators also make this subject shine! Jon and Laura are passionate about what they do, and this really shows in how they deliver the subject and engage students in it. Wishing there was a part 2 to this subject tbh.

Interesting and practical subject, and its greatest strength was how the assessments are 1) flexible and 2) build on top of each other. You get to write about any health/education issue for the first assessment, then propose an intervention for this issue through an oral presentation and final essay / explanatory paper. I thought it was a decent breadth subject. It was a bit dry at times, but I could tell the teaching staff was very passionate about their work and really did their best to cultivate a supportive learning environment!

It's now called Links Between Health and Learning. The tutor and lecturer were nice but the content wasn't always super engaging (although there were a few weeks with guest lectures about current programs being run that were really interesting). The assignments are really easy to do well in because they give you a rubric that breaks down what you have to do to get every mark. Readings were irrelevant to everything other than the two quizzes, and tutorials were two hours, but didn't seem to have enough material to fill the time. Overall, an ok subject.
