I took this subject over the winter term when it was run online. The content was decently interesting and ran smoothly. Considering it was an intensive, the workload was manageable and there were no scheduled lectures, so it was up to you to do the content in your own time, which was nice. There were a few quizzes throughout the weeks to make sure you were keeping up, but otherwise, it was very much self-guided learning. There were a few short videos to watch for each module and some reading about a different castle each time. It was interesting to learn about the architecture and the history behind each castle. The assessments were well explained, with an oral presentation and the final assignment. The final assignment had the option of a research essay or a brochure on an imaginary castle, which I did. The course was pretty flexible and well-run, but it was a bit tedious at times because not all of the information required for the assessments was contained in the videos.
