This subject was challenging. I did enjoy the practicals (when I knew what I was doing), and the practical applications of what we were learning was actually quite cool. The online quizzes are easy, the first assignment I found difficult because I had never written something like this before and there wasn’t much clarification so made it quite confusing. A lot of us were a bit unsure of what we were doing. The second assignment was better because you had done the first one so understood more what the criteria meant and what they were wanting you to do. The exam was okay, just make sure you study a bit beforehand for the ARCGIS questions. If you do this subject, make sure you are doing it on the latest version of arcgis pro because every single other computer in the entire university EXCEPT the ones you use in the computer lab are pretty much on this new update, which makes it tricky when doing the assignments. We were told a list of computers that were available for us to use to complete our assignments, but EVERY single area was either not accessible for us (eg you could not book it online as a student), apparently did not even exist or we were unable to log on. Hint: the ones in the design building library seem to be the only ones that worked for me and a couple classmates. (<- this is only relevant to people with Macs. If you have anything else you will be able to use arcgispro on your laptop etc. )The practicals were long, which was 100% necessary, however many times the issues that arose where we needed help were not even of our own design, and instead something weird arcgis had done that required out tutor half an hour to figure out. My advice is do this subject with some friends so you can help each other through the practicals and if one of your programs doesn’t add up, you can easily just share their computer. Our tutor was very nice and lovely, and whilst I think the skills we learnt are valuable, I can’t say I actually remember any of them well enough to put it on my resume or boast about it lol. I do think it was worth it, if you’re considering doing this subject I would say give it a go- just be prepared lol.
