If you like medieval or European history you will enjoy this subject! The subject assessment consists is challenging in that the marking is quite harsh and they are quite picky with things such as formatting and references. Overall it was an interesting subject and I would recommend it.

Super interesting subject if you have little knowledge of the subject or are interested in one thing in particular. Catherine was a great lecturer and Jackie was a fantastic tutor. It can be a little hard to write essays though as there isn't always an abundance of resources on one particular event/time period.

Really interesting subject with engaging lectures and tutorials. Some weeks content got slightly boring but the assessments had lots of options so you could focus on what you enjoyed most.

This was a useful subject to learn about key events in Early Modern Europe, such as the Reformation. I found myself drawing upon this historical background throughout my second year subjects. The tutorials were also really engaging and useful. This is a subject where if you put in the work, you can score well! The only downside is that some of the lectures felt a bit bland in my opinion. Overall a good subject to take!

This is an awesome subject! I went into it worried it would be difficult, as I had no early modern Europe prior knowledge - but the lecturers covered everything you needed to know in depth, in a way that was accessible for beginners. Catherine & Jenny gave really interesting lectures (favourites include the Black Death, discovery of the Americas, witchcraft & the Protestant Reformation). It's possible to do well, I got 86 on my tutorial journal which was a super easy assignment for most people. My tutor was great and really supportive. Would recommend for history students, but anyone really who has a keen interest! :)
