I was not expecting to enjoy this subject as much as I did, it's definitely a subject that should be taken by people who have some interest in 'science, technology and law'. It goes into some philosophical ideas about how these areas of study are connected, which at the start of the semester are a bit daunting. The readings get easier as the semester passes - I'm not sure how someone who doesn't do the readings would fare because they are a really big part of the subject, but the readings themselves are quite interesting and they're discussed thoroughly in lectures and tutorials. James is an amazing lecturer who is really passionate about what he teaches, the tutors are all really inquisitive and supportive, especially in the assessment periods. I found that I had the most personal academic growth in this subject, with learning how to incorporate readings into essays and just think more critically about stuff. This is one of those subjects where what you learn can be applied to real life and you can see it happening around you (kind of crazy!). It was all set in the law building which was fun, personally I hadn't been in that building before so it was nice to explore more of the campus. Atm tutorials don't have mandatory attendance, but they helped a lot with consolidating ideas and building themes for the assignments. 👍
