this subject was pretty alright. At times i actually forgot about this subject because it is soooo relaxed. As it moved online for the semester attendance was not required and also they just scrapped the tutorials all together. At the start of each lecture he spends 30min-1 hour just discussing current news about sport which i actually found super interesting but you're really not learning anything. Also you don't need to watch the lectures as there isn't any content taught tbh. The first assessment was THE WORST as the topic was super vague (i scored just over 70). Additionally, a marking rubric was only provided after some pestering and even then it was only a very general rubric just for law essays -- there was no assistance or direction what so ever for the first essay. In saying that, the second essay was awesome!!!!!! (i was able to score high 80s) We had 7 or 8 topics to choose from, most of which were actually pretty good. These had a lot more structure and direction and actually required some academic research!! I found i learnt more from completing that one essay than i did for the whole subject. The feedback on the essays was, however, lacking and just consisted of "good point" and "this is strange". In summary, the subject is a bit of bludge that requires minimal effort, however, i wouldn't consider it a wam booster. I would also recommend buying some notes from other students as the more legal topics can become confusing and it can be refreshing to see it from another POV.

Bit of a love-hate relationship with this subject. The good aspects include very little workload and relatively easy assessments, as well as interesting content. The assessments, however, especially the first one in its wording, was quite ambiguous. I wrote on the complete wrong thing due to the dodgy wording of the topic. What's worse is that during the zoom about this assessment before we had our results, he kept talking about some 'strange' essays - one of which was mine rip. The comments on my piece included 'this is strange', and that was about it unfortunately. And in following lectures he kept hinting at bad things about my essay, which was a huge shot to my confidence. So overall, I do recommend this subject as an easy breadth, just make sure you don't completely stuff up the first assessment like me :)) I also recommend buying notes because the organisation of lectures can be confusing
