The conent is really interesting and was taught quite well. but assignment questions were not well written, often being misleading and lacking clear instructions of exactly what is required.

I did this subject knowing nothing about physics and it was quite challenging! Although there are no formal physics prerequisites, a lot of the examples are physical and so you have quite an advantage if you know quantum, electrostatics, thermodynamics, etc. A lot lot of content too, very overwhelming but still interesting.

I found the Bessel function & Legendre polynomial parts a little bit challenging. But the differential forms part is quite interesting (and not that hard).

It's not the hardest subject and the lecturer doesn't have stringent requirements for academic rigour in assignments. He's an odd guy, but he's quite likeable. The first few weeks are just revision of Vector Calculus and Differential Equations. The integral equations section is actually pretty cool, minus the bit on memorising solutions to Fredholm equations. Probably my favourite part of the course. The differential forms section seemed a little random to include. The complex analysis section was also quite interesting, although not that rigorous. The differential equations section isn't hard. I do suggest doing all of the tutorial questions. And go to tutes armed with questions!
