This subject was literally the most interesting one I've done all year and I really enjoyed the readings, lectures and tutes. The readings are often 2-3 per week, although there is always one Audio-Visual text (be it a doco, film, episode etc.) which I loved. The lectures and lecturers are different every week which can make it kinda confusing to connect together, but almost every lecture was so interesting and really insightful. I would recommend this to anyone interested in learning more about indigenous culture and issues, it's a great opportunity to challenge yourself and your thinking. Despite all of this, I only gave this subject 4 stars because it was really really harshly marked. As someone who hasn't studied indigenous studies in depth before, I highly enjoyed the content and felt that I was learning so much, but unfortunately this wasn't reflected in my marks. The assignments were overall quite poorly constructed and the use of padlet (why tf) was super confusing. After the first few assignments i felt really defeated to be honest, and couldn't figure out what i was doing wrong. This may have just been the way my tutor marked, but I ended up with a H3 for the semester, which was my lowest grade all year. Despite this i don't regret doing the subject because i learned so much, but definitely don't do this if you're looking for an easy H1

You study a wide range of interesting topics, and are presented with different view points on the issues. This subject is both relevant and interesting and I wouldn't have picked anything else as my breadth subject.
