Holly is a breath of fresh air in the current 'educational' environment.

Incredibly run subject with readings assigned from interesting texts from feminist scholars across varied traditions. Holly is a fantastic lecturer and very helpful and available to students seeking essay feedback.

Do not recommend. If you want a good subject on feminism take 'The Politics of Sex' instead. This subject is run by an openly transphobic woman. If this subject is taken over by someone other than Holly it could become worthwhile. As it stands, definitely do not recommend.

I loved this subject, it was everything I wanted Sex, Gender and Culture: An Introduction to be. A wide range of feminist writers/activists were focused on, the texts ranged from fascinating, to classic, to funny and witty. Holly the lecturer was very knowledgeable, calm, clear, and had a refreshing realist perspective on many topics. There was a broad scope of topics to choose from for essays and we were provided with loads of additional resources, including movie and podcast suggestions which were excellent. We had an awesome group of students taking the subject which led to really entertaining, thought provoking and engaging tutorials. I only have good things to say about this subject, 100% recommended!
