The coordinators for this subject were great and many of the lecturers were engaging. I really enjoyed this subject, it was one of the best subjects I have taken in my university degree. A H1 is definitely achievable. If you do poorly in a MST the best thing to do is learn from it as the end-of-semester exam can increase your grade significantly. I ended up with a 90 in this subject and I loved it. You learn about treatments for diseases and their mechanism of action. The best advice I can give is to make cue cards with the drugs, their mechanism of action, and their adverse effects as you learn them.

Incredibly fun subject. Touches on a range of human diseases and how to treat them. Easy subject to score H1 if you're into that. Incredibly useful for any job related to healthcare.

Great subject with great content and lecturers. Similar to second year pharmacology, but even though they say it's not a prerequisite I would not recommend doing this subject without having done second year. They do okay to catch you up but they do assume a lot of knowledge. I found the exam to be challenging because it was entirely essay-style, which meant you really had to know your stuff without the advantage of being promoted by MCQs.

Really useful follow-up subject to second-year pharmacology. Lecturers do a good job of keeping the subject engaging. MSTs are pretty straightforward with a H1 very achievable. Extended response component of the final exam was a little dodgy.

This subject builds on top of 2nd year concepts. It's a challenging subject especially if your 2nd year knowledge is inadequate. The Cardiovascular content is an extension of what was covered in 2nd year pharmacology but with the addition of needing to know the mechanism of side effects. Understanding the physiology and mechanism behind the drugs is crucial to doing well.

The content from this subject was interesting. In 2018, we had five blocks of learning material: Principles, Immune System, Cancer, Respiratory, Cardiovascular. In each block (except maybe principles), we learned about the basis of a disease and then learned about pharmacological drugs to treat those diseases. If you approach every block in that way, then you can do quite well in this subject.

Well run subject that I found both interesting and challenging. Doing 2nd year pharm and pathology helped me alot for this subject.
