Reviews
Interesting subject, especially if you're into IR. However, it's very theory-based and requires a lot of reading. Wouldn't recommend if you haven't at least done the level one international politics class.

Loved this subject! Each week covers a different 'Key Question', and assignment gives you a good range of essay questions so you can really focus in on what you're interested in and have fun researching whatever you find to be more interesting. Tutorials were engaging, most of the lectures were great.

Poorly run in 2020, little assessment guidance and way too much reading. Lectures are interesting but I reckon this class is more likely to drag down than boost your WAM

This subject was good because my tutor was great and the discussions the class had in our tutorials were actually really useful in learning (adding to the lecture content) and discussion for the assignment. However it wasn't a very well organised (readings came out later) + the lectures were sometimes quite useless

I believe that in 2019 this subject was run very poorly, in comparison to other subjects I've done at UniMelb. The lecture content was severely lacking. The subject guide wasn't released until two weeks into the course. The readings were released progressively, which did not allow us to read ahead. No recommended readings were provided either, and since the required readings did not pertain to the actual assessments, this really affected my appreciation for this subject.
