I'm not going to lie, this is quite a challenging subject. The content was dense and, at times, difficult to understand. In spite of this, I found it incredibly interesting and exceptionally well-run. If, and I stress, ONLY if you enjoyed 2nd-year cog psych, should you do this subject. The content was relevant and quite cool imo. I always walked out of lectures being a little bit mindblown because the concepts we learn about aren't things one would naturally think about (compared to some other psych subjects which are rather intuitive at times), and they're oftentimes super meta. In my opinion, the tutorials were great and supplemented the lectures very well, which isn't a normal thing for tutorials (I often walk away from psych tutorials thinking that they were pointless tbh). The lecturers were also all good in their own ways! I particularly enjoyed Dan's lectures. The exam was a little tough. It spanned content from weeks 1-12 and was short answer. To be honest, I was not confident at how I went in the exam, however, I ended up scoring higher than I expected! I assume it scaled up quite a bit.

Save yourself from this subject. DO NOT TAKE IT. Very heavy on theory/abstract content. No application. The tutors were USELESS, they suck at explaining the concepts!!! But I do have to give good credit to the 'memory' section because it was actually interesting.

Amazingly rewarding subject. Passionate and engaged lecturers. Highly recommend if you hate the wishy-washy marking of dev psych/personality/social psych, and want something more... objective and mathematical. It is challenging, but what you put in is what you get out.

Really well taught and great content.

It was such a fascinating subject! Well-coordinated and taught over the entire course. Very interesting psych concepts. Lecturers and tutors were clearly passionate about the subject and their research areas and they did an excellent job in guiding us through the content. I enjoyed every bit of the subject. It could be a challenging subject, especially for those without cog psych background, but if you're willing to keep up with the lectures and tutorials, it will be a 'mission possible' to do well in it!

I thought the subject was very well taught and organised overall. It's not a subject that you can sit back and breeze through, however the content is quite interesting!
