This is an okay subject. We got a lot of time to do research but this is obviously complicated by team-work which can be hit or miss. But the group-work is only 10% of the subject. The poster (group work) was harshly marked imo. I got a different tutor than my actual tutor to mark my lab report (individual work) which I found really strange and she didn't seem to understand my reasoning which I had previously discussed with my own tutor and gotten the okay for. The exam was open over 3 days and was open book and was difficult for some sections. I enjoyed the lectures, but some lectures like the two neuro ones were very difficult to understand (and exam questions were hard), others like Indigenous Wellbeing were not well-taught. The saving grace of this subject is the subject co-ordinator Meredith who is an angel and arranged our exam to be 3-days and open book.

The ultimate subject of your psychology degree! I really think it gives a clear idea about what Honours will be like and therefore a chance for you to determine if pursuing psych further in the research realm is the right choice.

Best subject of my degree. Research project was an amazing experience where you had a lot of independence and it allowed a window into what conducting research in psychology is like. Like any group work it can be a pain when you've got some people who don't pull their weight, but the report is submitted individually and you can pick up on the slack of your group members when it comes to the shared element. Lectures are interesting - they cover an array of topics with a focus on integrating and applying your knowledge, I actually enjoyed completing the exam because it was such a good learning opportunity.

I liked this subject and thought it was interesting content. I enjoyed the mini project we got to do. It gave same insight into Honours. My only problem with this subject was that we didn't have tutorials to discuss the lecture content. Luckily some students had study groups to discuss the content, but these were privately arranged.

As the capstone subject for psychology, this was very enjoyable. Lectures may not be as ‘themed’ as other psychology subjects but were well taught and engaging nonetheless. The experience of the research project really depends on your topic and team but overall you could technically stray from your group in the major lab report assessment and still score high (just consult your tutor).

Actually, your perspective whether this subject is enjoyable or not really depends on the research topic and the groupmates that you get for the project. I got into my last preference and that made me a bit upset. Luckily, I could still follow the materials. The bad thing was I got uncooperative group members, and this made a struggle to follow up with the project. The lecture content was ok and exam was a bit challenging. Thank God, I still managed to get H2A despite the bad experience.

The research project was excellent, but I agree that the lectures were very random!

Fun research project. Really enjoyed it. However, the lectures can be jumping from one content to another and seems random.

The lecture content of this course is average at best. However, the research project is great!

Well-cooordinated, interesting lecture content, and the major assignment was enjoyable! Great at tying together the psychology major.
