Reviews
- i only began to enjoy the latter bit of the course when i was more engaged in it - had a strict and not very engaging tutor who marked slowly and didn't encourage enough CP. - online tutorials were dry and boring with just answering questions and got awkward at times when tutor didn't know his stuff - course should redesign tutorials esp online to be more interactive and activity based, rather than just a race to answer questions - more visuals in the ppt would have visualised the complicating steps when establishing certain parts of the concepts eg breach of duty, etc - less harsh with marking would help!! - interesting and important topics warmed up in laws1052 which was nice - cases all relevant and quite philosophical when you think about it - easy to follow course or moodle layout - overall tutor and staff were generally fair, altho could be more engaging - relevant assessments - writing notes or buying them is worth it. regret not putting in more effort right from the start but once i put my hand to the plough, jumped from a pass to a D in the final. - overall still a fun and really important/relevant course to law students

Sincerely I find anything related to law to be very simple, I did not need help of anyone to pass this subject. Overall this was an amazing subject that I passed seamlessly

Interesting course content, well structured and much more centred around problem questions and applying the law than ILJ

This course should really be called 'Negligence and related torts', because you spend about 9 weeks on negligence, and then a tiny bit on some other torts that are similar. I was personally hoping for an expansion on intentional torts from the limited education you get in ILJ, and to study a host of other torts as well, but was unfortunately a bit disappointed in this regard. Negligence is the most common tort however, so learning it as in depth as you do here likely has some utility.

Attend your tutorials and write relevant case briefs for each topic

An important foundational law class. It is more important to hone in skills in this class rather than absorb facts.
