Louise is the greatest tutor and lecturer that I have ever had at uni. She made tutorials exciting with discussions on current affairs and knows how to explain things easily. Highly recommend any aspiring journalists or PR specialists to do this unit.

Tute preparations every week are relatively easy just don't forget to do them. Lectures were pointless I stopped going as the lecturer just talked about himself the whole time and hardly anything was relevant. Jane is a fantastic tutor who gives you a lot of help about the assignments. Overall very easy course.

Didn't have a problem with the course content and assessments so much as the marking. For uni I tend to get distinction or high credit grades so I was surprised when I received pass marks for the first two assessments of what is supposed to be a first year course. This in itself would not have been an issue if adequate feedback and advice was given on how I could improve my marks. Instead there was barely, if any useful feedback and I never had a clear idea of what it was that I needed to do in order to receive higher marks. I also felt that my class averages were a lot lower than that of those in other classes and my tutor never seemed to know what was going on. All in all the course is very vague, confusing and unorganised with last minute changes to the weighting of assessments.

If you get Mohammad as a teacher, then..... I'm sorry in advance. The subject is interesting and the assessments are not intimidating at all (there's just a lot of deadlines). Mohammad is a grammar Nazi and will deduct marks for such petty errors where other teachers are quite lenient.

Pretty chill and easy but content is super dry and boring. No true discussion in the lecture so you can get away with just reading the lecture slides at home. The only time the lectures were worth going to when they had guest speakers. Didn't open my textbook once as it was basically a more wordy version of the lecture slides

really great course. very enjoyable. however, be careful when doing assignments to make sure you are writing for the right type of article - soft or hard news - as many students loose marks on doing these incorrectly
