It was dull

Great subject. Dr Gooden is the best lecturer I've had so far, very passionate, great at explaining concepts in his lectures, and really understands students. The assignments are really interesting. There is a lot of content but topics were separated well and the connection from topic to topic flowed well. The labs are quite fast paced, especially if you want to leave early to catch a train, etc. I would really recommend making good notes in your lab manual B as they will be essential for the open book lab quizzes and final lab exam. You will need to add more detailed notes that aren't provided by just completing the tasks. For example, knowing the main characteristics for each phylum/order/class that is mentioned (this is towards the back of the prac book, you will see what I mean). Overall really enjoyed taking this subject.

I'm biased. I LOVED this ECOLOGY subject & was asked to teach PASS. I loved the drawing, I loved the order of everything & Dr Gooden conveyed his passion for the subject in enthralling lectures/labs. The subject was broken up into classification systems & applied throughout. Don't forget your lab coat!

The Lecturer made this subject special because he's passionate about ecology and teaching students. Again, a LOT is covered(although it builds on HSC BIOL) but not in a lot of depth. The insect project is fun & very hands on. Campbell Biology textbook.
