Really interesting course material, especially as a lot of it is contemporary rather than historical. Cheryl Alipio usually runs this course, who is not my favourite lecturer, but if you can stand her then it's worth it because the content is so interesting. Assessments are pretty standard for an ANTH course - group presentation in tute (which is so boring), mid semester short-answer exam, end of semester research paper, and final short-answer examination. The research paper was cool because you get to do an ethnographic interview with someone you know who has migrated, then work your research around that. The class size for this course is huge, so don't expect to have very useful tutes, which are mostly taken up by listening to other group's presentations.
