The content was very interesting and tied in well with PHRM2011 and a bit of PHRM2040. There is a LOT of content, however, so this isn't a course you can cram in SWOTVAC. Warning: if you get Karin Borges, her lectures are very confusing and you'll need a lot of other resources to get your head around it. The midsem exam is pretty simple so it might give you a false sense of security for the final. The pracs are pretty boring but it's not hard to get 100% on your presentation. Overall though, a very interesting course that I really enjoyed.

BIOM2009 really helps you to link BIOM1052 to pharmaceutics and medications. It was really interesting to study (though there is really lots to remember). It can be difficult to handle the assignments and lab reports at first but you'll get the hang of it.

This subject built on the knowledge learnt from BIOM1052 and was extremely interesting to understand how drugs work ie their mechanism of action. It also integrated well with other subjects like PHRM2011 and PHRM2040. However it started great...then it just gets worse and worse...there are lab reports throughout the semester and the final exam was quite difficult. Dr Cheesman explained the concepts very clearly and in a way that is easy to understand. However, there seems to be an inconsistency in standards for marking assessments and that was disappointing. Overall, it was enjoyable, but there are few things that let this subject down.
