Reviews

Good (and easy) assessment & teaching structure. Morris Low is a solid lecturer. VERY broad scope, with the simplification & glossing you'd expect, a bit whiggish, but still interesting. Very introductory, great for beginners, still has opportunities for existing history-lovers.

The scope of this course is amazing! It covers so much and gave me a better understanding and insight on world history and the continuities between regions. The assessment is structured in such a way that it's really not that difficult to pass. There are a lot of readings though.

I studied 'HIST1601: Turning Points in World History' in Semester 1, 2017. It is a good course. It covers a massive range of content, and gives one a deep appreciation of world history and the historic interaction between Asia and Europe. Tutorials could be improved - most course content is covered solely in lectures.
