Reviews
One of the reviews here mentions Excel - wrong subject! This is about communications in the world of academia. You do essays and oral presentations. You need to do this subject early in your degree so your essays and presentations are of high standard. This subject is bland but necessary.

Seems the obligatory subject for USQ. A little dry at times but a good reminder of how to communicate in academia (especially if you've been out of it for a while).

I found the course rather hard to discern as I did it as a head start course in high school instead of a school subject. My brain wasn't developed enough to understand all the in-depth language which some of the journal articles and spoke in, I did pass I got a credit overall as I seemed to accel oddly with the oral presentation (being online) which brought my average C up to a B. I can't remember much from it now, over two years later, but I am glad I got it out of the road so I didn't have to do it this year alongside my other subjects. Doing three subjects rather than four really helped me ease into uni much better. All in all, the course was quite difficult for me, being 15 at the time, but enjoyed some aspects of it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this course. As a student coming straight from high school, I liked the extra knowledge of being able to think more critically and to communicate more effectively. The course also helped me to write essays and assignments at a professional level rather than a high school level helping me achieve better grades in other courses. There is much to gain from this course.

As an adult heading back into study I actually found this course helpful and informative. I had never written an essay so this course was an ideal start to uni for me.

This course, despite many people despising it's necessity, eventually taught me to think more deeply about how any why we communicate. It essentially taught me how to communicate more effectively. Even if you are sceptical about learning something you think you already know how to do naturally, you will be pleasantly surprised by how much you can gain from this course.

Very bland subject, the excel part was the most informative. Mustafa at USQ Springfield was helpful and understanding but, doesn't change the fact the course is flop.

Not much to say about this subject. Not interesting or enjoyable. It had to be done, and I'm glad I passed.

Such a waste of time and money! This is a class that should be offered to high school students still in high school - not adults with life experience and previous qualifications. The tutor at USQ Springfield is clearly doing her masters in something and had to teach this class as a part of it - and if this is not the case then her true calling is certainly not being a tutor! Cannot believe I am paying upwards of $700 for this sh***
