I didn't expect to enjoy this unit much as nineteenth-century English, French, Ottoman painting is not a particular interest of mine. Which really commends the content and the lecturer (Mary Roberts, when I took it) - it was a super interesting unit that covered so much more than just the decorative genre-painting stuff I was expecting. Really interesting and enjoyable; highly recommend. Have enrolled in another Mary Roberts-taught unit for 2022 (again, content doesn't fit my personal interests) based on quality of this class
