Incredibly interesting subject matter, but requires a lot of individual effort outside of class to understand. Would recommend buying the textbook for this subject! Dr Murray Thompson is the most passionate and engaging lecturer I’ve met, however his lectures are definitely more beneficial when attended in person. Labs teach practical, job-relevant lab skills but are fast-paced; if you want to finish on time you have to ensure you read through each respective lab’s method prior to your class. Lecturers are incredibly understanding and non-judgemental and will be more than happy to answer your questions in person, however, posts on EdDiscussion were not regularly checked/answered. This unit favours those who attend in person and who advocate for themselves and reach out for help when needed.
