why is there so much tuts, labs, assignments, quizzes its like 3 subjects in 1 and its supposed to be a basic first year unit. I picked it as an easy elective in my last sem.

Content can be a bit of a drag, but isn't necessarily too difficult too understand. This is surprising coming from me, considering I dropped HSC Chemistry because I literally had no clue what was going on but was able to keep up with this. Best piece of advice: do not neglect the lecture quizzes, easy marks and you should be getting no less than 100% in each one. Easy 10% scored, could be the difference between a fail and a pass. Another piece of advice : always go to your tutorials! The tutorial work is really handy and will help with things like the tut quizzes and final exam, better off doing the tutorial sheets IN the tutorial rather than when you're by yourself at home. Try to go to the lectures, but if you can't, watch them and print off the homework + lecture work sheets and do them as you're watching the video. You can't go wrong! Should be decently easy to pass as long as you don't fall behind, and ask as soon as you don't understand a concept. You'll get a reply on the forums quickly. Course instructors and tutors are very nice, keen to help. Enjoy! Also last hint, I found purchasing notes to be quite useful. There's a lot of information in this course and a lot of time would be taken typing it all up. Better to just have a set of bought notes from StudentVIP with good reviews opened on a split screen to make sure it has all the essentials and that's one less thing you have to worry about

This is a real foundational and an extremely useful unit. If you an follow up the lecturer, try hard for the tutorial sheets and try to prepare the quiz well, then you will be totally fine!

Good introduction to chemistry, much better than their previous CHEM1001 fundamentals unit.

Awesome introductory subject to chemistry. Would recommend buying a set of notes though, because there is alot of content to summarise
