This subject was very interesting. As a Medical Science student, I was sceptical at first. It is not as content heavy as what I am used to which was wonderful. Lectures were less than necessary to attend as long as you engage in the readings and were present in your tutorials. The whole HPS department is super cool, too. It also helped me bump my essay writing skills a lot - great for GAMSAT! ;-)

Lectures are pretty good, and are based very much off readings for the most part. So if you don't get to some of the primary source readings, it's okay. My tutor was boring but not actively obstructive - but there were two others as well so can't speak for them. Assessments now are 1x1000 word essay, 1x1500 word, and 1x2000 due in the middle of stuvac, plus tute participation.

Lectures seem redundant as everything said in those is just based off the readings. Tutorials are much more engaging and you get more out of those than you do out of the lectures. Assignments are pretty easy and straightforward to complete, as long as you've been keeping up with the readings. Overall, a great subject to take to opt out of a final exam.

Kind of potluck with which tutor you get. Theory is interesting enough. 3 assessments: 2 x 1500 word essays, and a 3000 word essay due right in the middle of stuvac.
