Course was really interesting and engaging, heck of a lot more readings that foundies so prepare for that. Get Dr Sevel as your tutor, he is the best by far.

This is a general introductory unit of study concerned with liability for civil wrongs, with particular emphasis on torts protecting personal integrity, safety and freedom from personal injury. The unit seeks to examine and evaluate, through a critical and analytical study of primary and secondary materials, the function and scope of modern tort law and the rationale and utility of its governing principles. It also aims to build students' skills in problem solving and applying the law to hypothetical or real life situations.

Daunting as a first-year student, but looking back torts really does fit the stereotype: fun, and definitely easier than other areas of law!

Good foundational unit for future law subjects, but be prepared for being given more cases than necessary

Its an alright unit. Just gets you started into studying law. At most times you will feel like you have no idea what's going on, but you will get over it after a couple of years of studying law. Teaching was okay, but I felt there was lack of information on how to do things for those who have just started doing law.
