This course was pretty tricky, and has a lot of content, but is pretty managable with the right help

I usually enjoy maths, but this was hectic. You move through topics quickly, and explanations rely heavily on previous learning, so if you don't 100% understand the previous topic you're set up to fail on the next one. If you're comfortable with being self-taught, I would honestly recommend to do that instead. The notes and lectures provided are only so helpful. All of them have book chapters associated with them. Spend your time doing those instead. The assignments took a somewhat 'holistic' approach, too. They incorporated lots of the content, but in a way where there wasn't a clear approach you should take, and no one is allowed to point you in even the vaguest of directions As a 3 CP subject, it took up just as much time (if not, more) as my 6 CP subjects.

Content ramps up a l too much towards the end and is overly content heavy for a 3cp unit. Prerecorded lectures eat up too much time and there is minimal guidance in the learning process. Other than that, tutors were pretty good

Excessive content for a 3cp subject. Online recorded lecture delivery / tutorials are not a good combination

Had a terrible lecturer that made the whole experience so bad. But generally not too difficult content and this content seems to have been moved into HSC Maths Extension 1 and 2 in recent years.

Professor Emily Cliff is an amazing lecturer! made everything so easy to understand

This course is very useful and gives the foundations of higher level algebra. It is particularly useful for those looking to do pure mathematics and/or physics.

Quite a useful course for a variety of degrees!

Very interesting course with interesting concepts, however, it was taught poorly with zero intuition. Eigenvectors and eigenvalues were shoved down our throats with no understanding of what they actually represented, so it felt like I was just a machine doing calculations rather than learning mathematics. It was only until I watched 3blue1brown's videos on linear algebra that it started to make sense. The teaching was poor, the content was interesting and very useful.

Fun course and really cool new concepts
