A lot of repetition from reality ethics and beauty, taking that beforehand definitely helps. Overall a solid subject.

Not as good as PHIL1013, but a core. Just try to find something you'll enjoy writing about.

Was my least favourite of all the phil undergrad units (and i did them all). Overlap between the lectures and way too much content for a good understanding of anything. Felt rushed and lecturers weren't all that engaging.

A decent overview of epistemology, political philosophy and discourses of 'the self'. Epistemology was excellent: a characterful lecturer who wasn't afraid to challenge students, particularly with the readings. Political philosophy was disappointing because it was focused too narrowly, and the lecturer failed to keep up with the schedule. The module about 'the self' was moderately interesting, though the lecturer was not engaging.

Can’t say I love the lecture, the content is quite basic and not too hard. But my tutor Inja is a remarkable teacher. She could really expand on the simple concepts in the lecture to much grander narrative of philosophy history.

Really great introduction to philosophers and their key ideas.

I'm not going to say I LOVED either of the intro PHIL units.. they are like a fast walk through an encyclopedia of philosophy.. remember it doesn't matter what you think, just know what Aristotle et al think.. don't send yourself crazy second guessing stuff that doesn't make sense, just learn it and spit to back out.. its not philosophy so much as history of philosophy

Society was extremely interesting and very politically charged. Knowledge was quite confusing and the lecturer wandered off topic fairly often. Self was easy to understand and very interesting.

really broad, great tutorial discussions to be had, but philosophy is never a walk in the park
