John is the best lecturer i've ever had. The unit is fairly straight forward and what's expected of the assessment tasks are clearly outlined. The way the assessments are set out are really helpful, the gradual build up of weighted marks and leaving the final exam at 35% makes it a lot easier and less stressful. Tutes are pointless, they're not compulsory so only come to those if you have a quiz, they're not structured enough to be helpful. To get the most out of tutorials, make sure you do the readings and the case study. A very interesting subject.

Jog is a great lecturer but I hear he is leaving so who knows what it will be like once he is gone. Interesting subject matter, lots of advice and support and a range of assessment. Very good.

John makes it very clear what he wants you to know for assessments and exams. He even puts up what weeks will be explicitly tested in the exam and doesn't throw any really obscure questions from the dark recesses of the course. He's leaving this year unfortunately but it is a really well organised unit (we got final exam marks back 3 DAYS after the exam and they were handwritten essays mind you). No tricks, reading amount is total do-able (but honestly, even if you don't do the reading the concepts aren't terribly hard to grasp). Also, tute attendance isn't compulsory let alone necessary... although it does help (just don't get a 9am tute - because you don't have to turn up i found that many people didn't go to the early tute so it was often just you and one other person... not much of a tute really).
