Reviews

The assignment is not so easy

Anonymous, Autumn session, 2017

At the end of the day, this subject isn't hard. It sounds hard thanks to the lecturer, but if you put the work in. You can learn everything really well and understand it better than most students. The hardest part of this subject is dealing with Keith Chan. Guys a nightmare, but he does offer the review lecture, stating exactly what is in the final. Of which is pretty much just tutorial questions.

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2017

This subject develops the concepts of corporate finance, includes an examination of analytical techniques used in capital budgeting decisions and the capital structure decisions. Capital structure, estimation of the cost of capital and the dividend decision are examined from empirical and theoretical viewpoints.

Anonymous, Semester 2, 2016

Not that difficult as long as you pay attention to small detail. It's pretty much FBF in more extensive detail. Quite interesting if you've enjoyed/ remembered FBF. Make sure you get yourselves a good group for the assignment. The quizzes were very similar to the actual in class quiz.

This is a great subject. I love it. Love it very much. Good fundamental for the business. Used it for my own investment.

Anonymous, Autumn session, 2016

The content of the subject brings a nostalgic feeling, similar to that of FBF... Quite heavy theory. Not too many calculations, however you need to remember tricky calculations whose formula are not in the formula sheet. Do turn up to lectures if you can, or listen to recordings, as the lecturer tends to provide more information than what the slides show. Practice carefully the exams samples since it resembles very closely the real exams.

hard subject, work hard and prepare to get a tutor

Anonymous, Semester 2, 2014

hard theory but easy math. not too bad

Anonymous, Semester 2, 2014

Quite tricky but reading the lecture and understanding all the formula will help

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2014

Useful. Best to start the assignment early and read things carefully to avoid trick questions
