Reviews
The assignment is research based, the questions are not too much challenging but requires student to understand the legal concept of taxation and how to apply it to the case study, mainly about assessable income and deduction, taxable income. Quite interesting

Pay attention to time control on the quizzes
Anonymous, Autumn session, 2017
Highly practical (tax, duh!). Mostly calculation, however there's a substantial amount of theories to memorise. Exams are open-book. Recommend you to do the tutorial works as much often as possible, plus practical quiz.
Anonymous, Autumn session, 2016
This subjects has 2 quizzes over the session, you should be careful with the first one because the tutor will just mark the answer instead of the working.

Taxation law will expand on your understanding of accountancy like no other subject. Very fast-paced and content heavy, so manage your time and prepare considerably. Do not neglect to understand every case that is mentioned in the lecture notes. Prepare extensively for the in-class quizzes because they can be tricky and are easy to lose marks on. The sample papers provided are comparable to the actual questions received but are definitely not the same. The final exam is a multiple choice quiz with a combination of questions on theory and calculations. The sample questions are fairly different to the actual questions so it is best to prepare yourself for a range of scenarios, transactions, and information by practicing the homework questions, the sample questions, and other examples that are provided in textbooks available in the library. Taxation law seems a bit daunting at first, but I guarantee if you put the work in and do your own research, you'll definitely succeed! Best of luck!
