Taxation was a bit boring, but if you are interested in how the Australian tax systems work, then this unit is for you. In terms of difficulty I think it is not too bad.

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2020

As being said a particurlarly boring subject, the unit coordinate does make it easy to get high marks before the final exam, and the boring is because of the nature of the subject not because of the lecturer. Anyhow it is okay but would not recommend doing it if it is not necessary.

Not a bad unit. I initially took this unit because the 20% worth quizzes are easy and untimed, which would guarantee me an easy 20%. That was true I got all 20% for my quizzes. There are three assignments each worth 10%. Not too bad either as I worked them with my friends. My tutor wasn't helpful though, I learned absolutely nothing from him (too bad I couldn't roast him in SPOT as there is no SPOT this semester). The content is so boring unless you are interested in how taxes work in AU. The lectures are quite helpful, although the lecturer is so boring and has a monotone voice. Finally, the final exam worth 50% was so easy. It was open book and most of the questions are the same as quiz questions. I printed all the quiz questions so I got around 40% free marks in the final exam. Some calculation questions are tricky, but it was overall very easy. However, some of my friends who took this unit said that final exams were quite difficult so perhaps mine was easier due to Covid-19, but put that thing aside, if you want a boring unit to boost your GPA, then this is the right unit for you. D guarantee if you at least put in a bit of effort. HD guarantee if you take it with your friends, work through assignments together, cross-check quiz answers, don't be afraid to ask your tutor for help with the assignments, and lastly, if your exam is as easy as mine.

"Very well administered unit". The lecturer mostly read off the slides. I failed my midsem but final exam is easier with all MC. TIPS: - For online quizzes, work slowly and carefully through the questions and double check them and if you can, work alongside friends! -Ensure your notes are organised for your open book exams, make sure you're able to locate info in your textbook quickly. Just because it's an open book exam doesn't mean it's easier ;)
